Graphic Recording for Sigmar Gabriel and Peter Eigen

The Thought

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) was hosting a public format, called “Denkräume” (thinking spaces) where the minister at the time, Sigmar Gabriel was talking to Peter Eigen, founder of Transparency International, the global coalition against corruption. They asked me to accompany the conversation by visually recording it.

The Shape

I created visuals for the invitation for the event, drew on my digital tablet during the event and provided the team with a visual summary after the event to send out to all who participated.
I will say, that the setup during the event was not ideal. My live drawing was projected onto a screen next to Sigmar Gabriel and Peter Eigen during their conversation. I think this is distracting and I actually recommend less dominant setups for graphic recording activities during events.

Graphic Recording on Design Thinking at SAP

The Thought

Petra Meyer brought me in to visualise the key thoughts, insights and results during her Design Thinking workshop around implementing Design Thinking at SAP HR.

The Shape

I used cards to visualise one insight per card so Petra and her team had images that were handy for their communication. I had suggested the card format to her after asking her about her intentions for communication after the workshop and the cards seemed more appropriate and visually stronger than the usual wallpaper-format for graphic recording. 

Yes, I actually used watercolour for my graphic recording :)

Mirror Illustrations for openXchange

The Thought

My clients, Marina Ostrowski and  openXchange asked me: How can we engage our clients in advance to and during the openXchange annual conference in 2012 in a visually pleasing and unexpected way that conveys some of our core messages?

The Shape

Mirror Illustrations done by me in advance and by me and participants during the event. I visually captured openXchange’s core principles as well as some of the presentations during the event.
